Dam Site Museum, Mylavaram

The Irrigation Department has constructed a major Irrigation Reservoir Project at Mylavaram (V) & (M) in Dr. Y.S.R. Kadapa District. It lies about 8 kms. from Jammalamadugu, the nearest town and 70 kms. from the District Head Quarters. In this project area, 12 villages were submerged. The Authorities of Irrigation Department have collected the stone sculptures from the submerged villages and kept them near the Dormitory. They have also constructed a G+2 Round Building and handed over it to the Department of Archaeology in 1978. In 1980 the museum a Site Museum was established and the stone sculptures were erected on the pedastals. Later, the arms and weapons, coins, terracotta objects and palm leaf manuscripts were collected in the surrounding villages and displayed in the central room.

Visitor Facilities : Clean, cool drinking water and good toilets are available.
Timings : The Museum is open from 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM and closed on Fridays and Public Holidays.
Entry Fee : Free
